Our New Daylight Resins – Made to Perform
In Additive Manufacturing (AM), photopolymers are the material of choice when high speed and fine details are critical factors. The resins used in AM are liquid photopolymers – light-sensitive materials that change their physical or chemical properties when exposed to a light source, usually UV light.
Together with Photocentric, we are now launching a joint visible-light photopolymer product line portfolio named “Ultracur3D® EPD” (Engineering Plastic Daylight). We developed these innovative resins specifically to work seamlessly on Photocentric LCD daylight printers. By combining Photocentric’s advanced printer technology with our high-performance photopolymers, industrial manufacturers can achieve high quality results at a very competitive cost per part.
After successfully introducing the first materials in summer 2020, the latest additions to this line are now available: Ultracur3D® EPD 1086, 3500 and 4006.
What sets these new materials apart?
All materials in the “Ultracur3D® EPD” portfolio share one vital benefit: They enable large-scale production at competitive cost. Moreover, parts printed with these resins demonstrate high stiffness with excellent flexibility, meeting the needs of customers with demanding applications such as prototyping, engineering and large-scale automotive parts.
Let’s take a closer look at the individual materials and their dedicated advantages and properties:
Concentrating on the economic aspect, the latest Ultracur3D® EPD 1086 is the perfect choice. Targeting the lowest cost per part, this multi-purpose daylight resin is an impressively cost-effective allrounder with well-balanced mechanical properties.
For engineering prototypes, Ultracur3D® EPD 3500 is the right choice – it’s a strong daylight resin with superior strength and stiffness. For applications requiring a translucent look, this is the go-to material.
When focusing on functional applications, the new addition Ultracur3D® EPD 4006 offers superior toughness and impact resistance, making it an extremely rugged and durable material. It’s easy to use and provides printed parts with an outstandingly smooth surface finish.
