ISO 14001 Certification for BASF Forward AM
BASF Forward AM is proud to have been awarded an ISO 14001 Certification. This is the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and was designed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to help businesses and other organizations to reduce their environmental impact.
“The purpose of ISO 14001 is that it must drive companies to consistently maintain high environmental performance standards by reducing waste, energy usage, and greenhouse gas emissions. This certification creates a solid framework to guide BASF Forward AM through our multiple sustainability initiatives.” – Nicolas Mathian, Head of Sustainability
ISO 14001 is an integral part of our business as we commit ourselves to not only continuously improve upon the emissions our products may create, but also monitor the impact our operations have on the environment. While these initiatives include reducing waste from packaging, left-over materials, and wastewater, it also encompasses typical business functions such as decreasing paper waste in the office. It goes beyond what is mandatory by law and motivates us to strive for self-imposed and exacting environmental goals and targets. It also requires us to select suppliers that exhibit these same high standards with regards to their environmental performance.
BASF Forward AM is currently ISO 14001 certified at our corporate headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany with a current focus to certify our Emmen location in the Netherlands planned to follow in 2024.
“Quality is about making a product or service experience ‘worry-free’ for customers. This extends traditionally to the product properties being consistent with what was specified and reliably constant in performance. But to us, Quality also means that customers can trust that throughout the development process of a product or service, we strive to design and create low-impact, environmentally friendly solutions that meet our demanding sustainability goals and targets. And being ISO 14001 certified is essential to our commitment to both Quality and Sustainability.” – Dr. Sebastian Lang, Global Head of Production and Quality
